work on the causes
Alice believed in

The above picture is of Alice (in the white hat and purple jacket) at the annual National Day of Mourning protest in Plymouth, MA on her birthday in 2018. She was committed to justice in below freezing conditions, when it was inconvenient, and when it was uncomfortable. See below for ways to continue her legacy:

Supporting the Asian-American and Pacific Islander Community

As of the horrifying murders of Asian-Americans in Atlanta on March 16th, I wanted to add the following GoFundMe links for victims of this hate crime:

Black Lives Matter

Alice started fighting for racial justice back in the 60’s and she never stopped.

Never one to be afraid to speak up for justice, it was exceedingly rare to ever see her without a Black Lives Matter button… not to mention having extra ones to share with anyone like-minded…

Help keep her dream of a better future moving towards becoming reality!

Bail Funds and Mutual Aid Funds

Alice spent her life working for justice, front SNCC to protests. Read for yourself about police and prison abolition here. And, if you can contribute to the following bail funds and mutual aid funds, and send aid to those affected by the prison-industrial complex, please do so by following the links below:

National Bail Out

National Bail Out is a Black-led and Black-centered collective of abolitionist organizers, lawyers and activists building a community-based movement to support our folks and end systems of pretrial detention and ultimately mass incarceration. We are people who have been impacted by cages — either by being in them ourselves or witnessing our families and loved ones be encaged. We are queer, trans, young, elder, and immigrant. Learn more at www.nationalbailout.org.

King Boston: The Forward Fund

The Forward Fund at King Boston seeks to support BIPOC-led grassroots organizations that provide direct service, work in base building efforts, provide mutual aid, and focus on historically marginalized communities targeted by the federal voting process and aftermath.

Supporting Indigenous Causes

This is another great cause that Alice & Bert have supported for a long time, both with money and their own time… something which I think we are now, more than ever, aware of as a woefully finite and precious commodity.

Native Partnership

Native American communities need your help with the delivery of food, water, toilet paper, and other basics. Shortages exist every day on the reservations and supplies are needed now more than ever due to the coronavirus pandemic.
